On the eve of World Stroke Day Department of Neurology organized one day “CME on Stoke “ in GMC Srinagar Auditorium on 28th October. This Year’s theme is # Greater Than Stroke where in stress is on message that 90 percent of strokes are preventable. The Welcome address was given by Prof Bashir Sanaie ( HOD Neurolgy) .The audience was addressed by Prof Masood Tanveer ( Principal and Dean ) , Dr Sheikh Hilal Ahmad ( Organising Secretary) ,Director Health Services Dr Mushtaq Rather and Faculty from all leading hospitals from valley.The Guest of honour was Prof M V Padma Shrivastava ex HOD and Chief Neurosciences AIIMS.The CME was attended by doctors from various specialties from all hospitals , Students, Physiotherapists and paramedical staff. During the CME it was deliberated upon how to improve the stroke care in our community, make community aware how to identify stroke and to report to emergency for treatment fast. The need for having stroke unit in referral hospitals to make them “stroke ready “ hospitals was also discussed. Besides that lectures were delivered on latest advances in management of stroke. Overall it was an enlightening programm
