Education & Training

The department is engaged in teaching & training of undergraduates, Postgraduates and research in various aspects of public health. Besides this, students of Nursing (MSc., BSc. & GNM), Sanitary Inspector and other Paramedical courses are undergoing training in different health centres of this department.

Our goal in teaching students is to provide them with the skills, knowledge, and perspectives needed to understand the essential links between the social, physical, and economic environments and the health of individual patients and their families.

Undergraduates:

The MBBS teaching program in Community Medicine is spread over a period of three and half years.

POSTGRADUATES:

At post graduate level, it prepares the Public Health Specialist, an important human resource for the country, with job opportunities in several public health domains at national and international level.

The training of PG students shall involve learning experience `derived from' or `targeted to' the needs of the community. It shall, therefore, be necessary to expose the students to community based activities.-MCI
